Global Talent Recruitment at School of Tropical Agriculture and Forestry, Hainan University

I. Recruitment Department

The School of Tropical Agriculture and Forestry (School of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, School of Rural Revitalization) was founded on July 9, 2016 by integrating agriculture-related disciplines of Hainan University, under the care and support of the Hainan Provincial Committee and Provincial Government. Its history could be dated back to 1958, when the Department of Tropical Crop Cultivation was established at the College of South China Tropical Crops. With a history of over 60 years, the School of Tropical Agriculture and Forestry has achieved remarkable outcomes. In addition to the world-class construction disciplines, it has secured a series of internationally leading scientific and educational accomplishments, such as the large-scale successful cultivation of natural rubber within the 18°–24°N latitude belt, cultivated numerous professionals in tropical agricultural science and technology, and contributed considerably to the development of China’s tropical agricultural science and education base and to the regional economic growth of tropical areas.

The School always bears in mind the expectations set forth by General Secretary Xi Jinping, regards ‘building Crop Science into a world-class discipline’ as its core objective, and steadfastly shoulders the responsibility and mission of educating talent for the Party and the nation. Centered on cultivation of high-quality, top-notch, and innovative agricultural talent for the new era, it strives to ensure that where Hainan has needs, the School of Tropical Agriculture and Forestry delivers. With “Tropical High-Efficiency Agriculture” as its primary focus, the School is committed to expanding and strengthening this field. Its aim is to become an indispensable pillar supporting the industrial development strategy of “Tropical High-Efficiency Agriculture” and to lead the way in international higher education and disciplinary advancement in tropical agriculture and forestry.

The School of Tropical Agriculture and Forestry (School of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, School of Rural Revitalization) at Hainan University has a community of nearly 9,000 faculty members and students. Centered on tropical agriculture, the School boasts a comprehensive educational system, covering undergraduate, master, doctoral, and postdoctoral programs.
